The Compatibility PartyApril 12, 2019 699
Imagine a big international party where the people have different personalities and speak different languages. Even the simplest things can seem impossible when you don’t know the language. The people at the party mostly stick with the groups of people they know and don’t mingle very much. That’s basically how electronics compatibility works.
AUKEY mingles with all the technologies to make the party better for everyone! AUKEY has a significant role to play in enabling all your technology to work together seamlessly. We give you the power to do everything you need to do so you can live your life with all the benefits of technology and none of the fuss.
Type-C: The Future
Yes, USB-C is the way forward. It’s a universal link for all kinds of devices (phones, tablets, laptops, PCs), and carries power, data, and video through the same port. Best of all, it’s always the right way up, so you can plug it in LIKE A BOSS! AUKEY is championing USB-C with a huge selection of USB-C products and a host of ways to bridge the gap between earlier technologies and this new USB connector standard.
AUKEY CB-A1 USB 3.0 USB-C to USB-A Adapter and twin pack CB-A1-2 are some of our bestsellers for a reason. Many people have new USB-C devices but still want to use their USB-A devices and peripherals with them. CB-A1 is a really compact and minimalist adapter that does the job perfectly.
We also have an aluminum version in a twin pack, CB-A22, that’s even slimmer so they can fit side by side on MacBooks despite the extremely close spacing between USB-C ports.
To connect multiple USB-A devices, peripherals, and memory media to a single USB-C port, you need a USB-C hub. AUKEY CB-C65 connects three classic USB-A devices to a USB-C port on a new phone or laptop. Can you handle remarkable data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps (10x faster than USB 2.0)? Time to find out! As an added bonus, it also has micro SD and SD card slots. So this is a handy little hub you can really depend on.
Other AUKEY hubs like CB-C55 also offer connections for HDMI, Ethernet, and more, so we’ve got you covered, whatever your needs.
One of the most common questions asked about products like adapters and hubs on Amazon is The Compatibility Question:
"Does this work with…?"
Just a few examples of the many compatibility questions we get asked. If yours appears here, congratulations!
We do our best to guide and assure you by explaining the scope and operation of our products on our website and on Amazon, as well as listing many current popular devices they are designed to work with. However, we can’t list every model of phone or laptop. In most cases, the products are compatible with the whole range of devices that have the same connection type. There are cases though, where a specific phone or laptop with the correct port doesn’t support all of the features. For example, some laptops have USB-C ports but don’t support USB Power Delivery through those ports, so they can’t charge via the hub's Power Delivery connection. This is just a limitation of those devices, but we’ll itemize those models on the product page to avoid any confusion or disappointment. We also offer one of the longest and best warranties in the business, so you can buy with confidence when you buy from AUKEY.
Know Your Compatibility Titles
When writing the main text headings and product picture titles about compatibility, we also like to let you know about the overall state of play for compatibility. Allow me to introduce you to some of the special terms using a summary table followed by more detailed explanation.
An AUKEY product with Universal Compatibility works with everything. Sometimes that is specific to its connection type. A USB-A only power bank is universally compatible with all your classic USB devices but of course won’t work directly with USB-C devices or Speak & Spells (you’ll need a USB-C or a Speak & Spell & Power adapter). Other times it really does work with a universe of stuff, like some of our hubs do. In the new Internet of Things era, we might have to bring in an even more universal label like Interdimensional Compatibility.
Extensive Compatibility doesn’t work with the whole universe of USB (maybe it’s only for USB-C, for example) but it’s a master of its USB type territory. It brings a whole lot of friends to the compatibility party and seems to know everyone.
When we return to Earth and the product only works with a ton of stuff (some particular exceptions excepted and noted), this is Broad Compatibility or Wide Compatibility. Which of these is your favorite? I feel like "Wide" says it how it is, while "Broad" acts a little more distinguished. Ultimately though, they’re bros in the compatibility 'hood. They went to the same school, like the same stuff, and do training montages together between special appearances. These days, "Broad" is getting all the big gigs and rising up in the world; especially since the 2018 Compatibility Titles Standardization Legislation.
Sometimes I even like to go a little crazy and mix it up a bit with two different compatibility titles. In this case, take the highest compatibility level as the actual standard and keep the other for personal use or in case of emergencies.
Don’t worry about compatibility; think of it as a party and let AUKEY be your guide.
